1.       Digital Wise Card for fast and easy transactions

When travelling in different places you will need to deal with different currencies which can be difficult and stressful to keep track of.

The Wise Card simplifies this process by allowing you to hold and convert over 40 currencies at the real exchange rate, often better than those offered by traditional banks. With low conversion fees starting at 0.41%, it eliminates the worry of high transaction fees and unfavourable rates.

This card ensures you always get the best rate, saving you money and hassle on your travels. I have used this card on every trip abroad, and it has made my life both easier and less stressful.

2.      Splitwise and its tips for planning Group trips

On big group trips, you’ll often find yourself sharing costs for transportation, meals and shopping. Keeping track of who owes what can be confusing.

Splitwise is an app that simplifies this by allowing you to upload transaction costs and split them among the group. It will automatically keep track of the transactions and calculate the net transaction. It is an app accessible to everyone to view and edit, ensuring you’re all squared up by the end of the day!

3.       Visit the Local supermarkets for unique local recipe tips

Want to savour local cuisine on a budget? Head to local supermarkets to discover interesting snacks and food. Strike up a conversation with the locals working there. They’re usually more than happy to share unique recipes you won’t find elsewhere!

As Anthony Bourdain said, “Travel isn’t always pretty. It isn’t always comfortable. Sometimes it hurts, it even breaks your heart. But that’s okay. The journey changes you; it should change you”. So, stay out of your comfort zone and explore!

4.       Use TripIt to organise your tickets

Keep all your travel information in one place using the app TripIt. Simply forward your email confirmations to your TripIt account, and it will automatically create an itinerary for you. No more last-minute email searches to find exact timings and dates!

5.       Navigate public transport and say no to taxis!

Public transport can be very budget-friendly. Research local transport options on official websites or by asking locals, if anyone knows how to move around the city it’s the locals!

Don’t be afraid to strike up conversations – it's

one of the best ways to immerse yourself in the local culture. As Nelson Mandela said, “I never lose, I either win or learn''. Embrace the journey and the learning that comes with it, you can never lose!

The Ultimate Tips Summarised

By incorporating these tips into your travel routine, you’ll not only save money but also enrich your travel experiences. Remember, the key to an unforgettable journey lies in preparation and embracing the local culture. Travelling truly is learning, and every trip offers new lessons and adventures. As Langston Hudges wrote, “Life is for the living”.

The Splitwise sounds like an excellent app to use on vacation. Using that app means no one has to try to calculate or argue how much each person has to pay. Thanks for sharing.
